MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1995 rover mini engine?
hi, how easy is it to transplant my midget RWA 1275 engine from a 1275 1995 rover automatic engine?my engine has done 90,000 miles and is showing its age, the mini engine has done less than half that so could be a good option.. what are the obvious problems?? will the engine fit straight to the midget gearbox? any tips would help me to make a descision?? hopefully before the spridget 50!!! cheers snowy

The block and crank are different. The crank can be modified to fit ( my boss modified a mini crank, and it has done 200,000 miles in his supercharged moggy thou ute!). The head will fit, but is it carb or injection?

would not go throug the trouble the crank, rods, front/back plates are different. The injection stuff is to be avoided at all cost no beter than a good carb (witch is way easyer) Rebuilding your own block or having an exchange unit is by far the prefereble option

I would just pull the engine in your car and rebuild it, that way you know it will go back in with no problems.
