MG Midget and Sprite Technical - MGA Carbs on 1275?

Anyone have any experience with these Carbs on a 1275? My engine was in much need of air and fuel, we put these carbs on the car and it goes like a bat out of hell. I need to set up a choke on one carb for cold starts.

Thanks,

Ron

There are friendlier carbs than H4s that'll give good performance, IMHO. Or maybe I just don't like overhauling the H range.

What manifold are you using?

Ron.
The H4 (in my mind) is a lovely period carb and was indeed used by BMC on some of the 'Works' 'A' series cars fitted in pairs. Speedwell also used them on the 948cc engines with great sucsess.

There are more modern carbs that I'm sure perform better, but a midget with these is just a joy...
