MG Midget and Sprite Technical - URGENT brake help needed
I've tried almost everything but I'm still not getting a good feel from my new master cylinder. Is it possible I have the wrong bore? The one that came off said "Lockhead 3/4", but the new one only says "Lucus" I g ot a few good stops from low speed (poor pedal, but stops) and then I started to get quite spongy. Could an overtight rear drum case this? (I got home after not braking for about 3 miles and the discs were still hot, but only one drum was hot)

Thanks Mark, I have brakes again. Swapped back to the original master with new seal and polished piston - we will see if it was the fine marks on the piston that caused the leak that kicked this off. With the original master on I was still not feeling it, but at least was getting pump-up. A very few tiny bubbles later and I still have a lot of pedal travel, but at least I now get to a point where the disks bite down and the wheels lock up. Success!

Can anyone tell me where to locate a replacement pin that goes between the primary and secondary pistons on the dual line brake system on a 79 1500 midget? I'd hate to have to purchase a $200-$300 master cylinder for a stinking $.50 pin. Thanks.

Hey Will, where are you sailing to Ireland from? I live in Pembrokeshire and two ferries go to Ireland from here. Pembroke Dock and Fishguard. Neil
