MG MGA - Antiques Road Trip - MGA

For any one interested this week's Antiques Road Trip has the experts driving round in a white 1600 MGA. BBC1 at 1630 hours for 45 minutes. The driver, Charles Hanson is probably the worst driver to ever pass a driving test. I think the car will require a new gearbox and clutch by the time he has finished with it. Lots of very juddery starts.

Yes, just noticed it's a Twin Cam. The owner must be mad loaning it out to that lot.

I have a very good friend who has a Sunbeam Alpine. Some years ago he was paid a modest fee to loan it out for the making of a film.
But never again.
It was in a right state when he got it back and he then found himself in a fruitless battle with them to receive compensation for the damage.

We in Australia proably won't see that particular episode for at least 6 years!...unless one has pay TV, which I refuse to do.

I heard that. It is a very recent one, being filmed this year just after our first lockdown with everyone socially distancing. They even had the 2 experts in different classic cars, the other being an Austin Healey 3000. I would be happy for the expert using that car to drive mine. He is an MGTD owner and driver.

Don’t hold your breath. It’s a load of mush with a few clips of the car doing about 25mph. I gave up on it after half an hour, don’t tell me I missed the best bit!
