MG MGA - crank dog nut

I have a 1500 crank dog nut that has 4 catches instead of the normal 2, anyone ever see this before?

Crazy. Can't imagine how it could work without a very special starting handle. How about a picture?

OK here is a photo, It was in my MGA engine parts stuff. It is the same size and my starting handle fits it,...but it doesn't screw into the crank all the way. I can only get it in a few threads by hand then it gets stiff.I think I could seat it with a wrench,but I will not try to.
