MG MGA - Front Crank Bolt

Hello all-

Does anyone know the size of the front crank bolt? I think it is 5/8 14 but I'm not 100%. Thank you.

Close but no cigar. I just neasured one. It is definitely 5/8-16-UN (or UNR) (Unified National). This is neither 5/8-11-UNC nor 5/8-18 UNF, but one of the "standard specials" in between. You will not find a matching bolt (or nut) at your local hardware store.

That didn't stop somebody from forcing a bolt from the hardware store into the crank of my spare engine. 8^P
