MG MGA - Moss changes!

Since this is really a British website, thought I'd make some comments on the Moss UK "situation". As everyone is aware, Moss and "others" have been taken under the Rimmers wing...and things have really gone downhill since! All my contacts in London have been discharged from duties, and most enquiries/orders are directed to Moss Bristol, who then pass on the orders to Rimmers for despatch.
Then the problems start...in ther past 2 months, I've had wrong orders sent, wrong parts, parts missing etc.etc. This never happened with Moss.
Then, freight, as Im in Australia..Moss London always used Fedex, which were brilliant, door to door. Rimmers use DHL, and they are about as useless as???
I'll quote another problem with the Rimmers process eg. Moss sold an exhaust fitting kit, containing about 15 different items (washers etc.)..this always came in one single bag. Rimmers now send the 15 items in separate plastic bags!!!..now thats downright stupidity.
I am a Moss Trade customer, but am now changing to Brown and Gammons.

It’s a long time since I’ve had any dealings with Moss, other than a one-off ebay purchase when they seemed to be having a stock clearance.

I’ve only used Rimmers three times. Once when I needed a brake calliper for OH’s Rover 25. A new calliper was only £36 but postage was £11.50

I also bought a few parts for my Rover 75 from them, but I collected them in person when I had to travel to Lincoln for work.

Due to health issues, i haven't done too much on my car recently so haven't used Moss or anyone else. But I would say when ever i used Brown & Gammons in the past, it was always a good service, so hopefully you will be in good hands now

I don't know about the Moss UK issues, but as a loyal customer of Moss here in the USA since the 90's, it saddens me what is happening there. I now order elsewhere because I can't rely on them anymore, and it costs me far more to get the same product from them (if I receive it at all). They also fired a lot of their best people including the entire technical department.

Steve- Have you tried Englishparts.com I used to get exceptional service from them. Haven't used them for about a year since it changed hands but if the service remains-they were really helpfull and close-ish to you.
