MG MGA - Windshield frame bottom piece

My windshield frame is really showing the effects of 25 years and a poor chroming job when I restored the car. I bought another frame a few years ago and had it rechromed, but now find that the lower section is seriously warped and not usable. So I am looking for a spare bottom section in any condition as long as it's "straight" (i.e. to the original form). The current windscreen is also delaminating, so I have to do something this winter

Can anyone help out with a lower section only so I can make up a new frame and still have the car drivable in the meantime? My car doesn't get laid up unless there is salt on the road!

The original is on the car, but I have all the bits for a second frame except the lower rail ( well I have one but it's warped and unusable)

I want to make up the new frame with new glass, as the frame on the car has delaminating chrome and delaminating glass. I just need another lower rail so I can have it rechromed and then I'm ready to roll.

So has anyone got just a lower rail going spare?

Those bottom rails are like Rocking Horse XXXX. They usually fetch a couple of hundred pounds ($300 ish) if you can find a vendor. It would be a good reproduction item for an engineering company. Anyone (like me) who goes down the sportscreen route uses a second bottom rail rather than dismantling their original screen, so there is a big shortage of this item. My original screen sits in the attic and there is no way I will split it for spares.

Looks like your best bet is to take a few weeks downtime and rechrome your existing frame.
